This morning, you wake up ready to go, feeling great after a good night’s sleep.  You have your list of shops to visit and Rows you want to collect.  You think…pesky household duties, they can wait!  Breakfast is easy – a cup of coffee and a protein bar.  Need all the energy you can get today!  It’s June 21st and you are off and running.  But wait…will you still have energy by 3 o’clock?  Silly girl, you think that breakfast bar, even though 16 grams of protein, is going to hold?  Remember, you’re meeting Jean and Leslie.  They are dynamos and will keep you running shop to shop until one of you drop.  “If I don’t have a snack to keep my blood sugar up, I’ll fade and not make it.  I can’t live without all 8 rows!”

“Eating properly for quilters/rowers on the run is just as important as for active sports enthusiasts,” says Delinda, healthy living expert.  (And as we all know, rowing is an active sport!)  Delinda recommends you bring a basket full of low calorie, high protein snacks to keep you going all day long.  Delinda says, “The cleaner you eat, the better you’ll feel and the more energy you will have.  Eating breakfast will jumpstart your metobolism which converts food to energy but a mix of almonds, peanut butter, a banana, and other single serve items will be convenient and will help keep your stamina up.”

So, Rowers, go forth and collect – patterns and/or kits – and have a marvelous time!
