What a team! Debbie was first introduced to Row by Row Experience when her employer asked her to put together four rows. Debbie did this and enjoyed it so much, she decided to investigate what ‘rowing’ was all about.
As with all Rowers, she got her friends and family involved. “My friend Elizabeth had never heard of it and is now hooked. Then I asked my nephew to get me a kit from a shop that was in his town.” With a chuckle, Debbie said, “He walked into the shop and said ‘I’m looking for somebody rowing’.” Thank goodness quilt shops are used to this and pointed him in the right direction. Husband Don drives a Harley. Debbie said he raises eyebrows when he pulls up to a quilt shop by himself and asks for a Row by Row Experience pattern or kit.
While sewing rows, Debbie said she was impressed with how big Row by Row Experience is and ventured out with her mom, son, and Don to Lancaster County to collect. Debbie said, “What should have been a four hour trip turned into 7 1/2 hours because of all the shops they visited.” She said she mapped it out, printed all the addresses, and had a blast. I asked Debbie if she preferred kits or patterns. She said it depended upon whether or not she needed the fabric included in a kit versus being able to use her own fabric.
Finally, Debbie created a notebook of her and Don’s adventures including patterns. She is all excited about Row by Row, On the Go. With her and Don on the Harley, it should be great fun collecting. So to Debbie and Don I say, Harley on!
