As promised, here is Part 2 of the information on the 2019 Collaboration Quilts. Each Row by Row quilt was designed by a group of shops working together. Read about more collaborative quilts here in Part One.

One of the quilts getting a lot of attention this year is the Row by Row Taste the Experience quilt from shops in the Chicago area. The 8 stores worked with the talent of Enrique DeAnda of Westfield Laser and Design to create a quilt that reflects a “Taste of Chicago.”

The rows can stand alone or be put together for a terrific 45″ x 54″ quilt or wall hanging. Each shop offers the complete laser cut kit, including the background for a consistent design. It’s so fun to study the quilt and pick out the iconic Chicago images.

Congrats to:
Sewing Concepts Woodstock, Material Girl, Sewing Concepts Carpentersville, Quilters Destination, Blue Willow Mercantile, Quilters Quest, Thimbles, and Top Shelf Quilts.

Massachusetts and New Hampshire

“Taste of New England – Eat Local” is a collaborative quilt between 2 Massachusetts shops and 6 shops in New Hampshire. Since Row by Row has no borders for rowers, it’s fun to collect rows from multiple areas. This quilt and the rows have been popular due to the clever appliqué and use of piecing to tie it all together.

Participating shops:
Quilters Common , Wakefield, MA
Sew Together, Tewksbury, MA
Quilting A Way to a Pieceful Life, Amherst, NH
Pine Tree Quilt Shop, Salem, NH
Aunt Mary’s, Derry, NH
Stitched in Stone, Kingston, NH
Patches Quilt Loft, Manchester, NH
Thread in Hand, Candia, NH

They call it “Sweet Treats of Western Michigan” and this collaborative quilt sure is yummy! The rows are a fun mixture of pieced and appliqué. They look great together and also have shown up in a variety of quilts around the US and Canada. The Sew Sweet row is a bonus row, can’t be counted as one of the 8 in a winning quilt, but is available in any of the Sweet Treats collaborative shops.

Abbi Mays Fabric Shop, Fabric Peddler, Friends Quilting Basket, Get Crafty, Gail Sewing, Savasana Quilts and Sunrise Fabrics.
