Last week, Debra Gabel from Zebra Patterns and I met in New York City to discuss options for a new line of fabric with Timeless Treasures fabric company. Since Debra lives in Baltimore and I live in Syracuse NY, NYC is the perfect meet-in-the-middle kind of place for us.

The entire time (3 days) we were there, we kept seeing things that reminded us to Taste the Experience! Perhaps my favorite was the outlet store, classroom and bakery for NY Cake. What a yummy place!

This iconic display takes up an entire wall in the store! All of the pieces making up the NYC skyline are created from baking and candy tools. Everyone stops to take a photo!

Here is a photo of another display  – this time of beautiful handcrafted cake stands.

Everywhere I looked was another original display idea, but this one took the cake! (pun intended) The light fixture was more like a chandelier made from whisks. I “whisk” you were there to see it. (sorry… I’ll stop now…)

It was time to go to work so we headed over to the offices of Timeless Treasures. Timeless has created a Row by Row fabric line to coordinate with the theme for the last several years.

I was excited to spot this cute pillow on the sofa in the foyer. You probably recognize the fabric from the 2017 Row by Row Home Sweet Home line designed by Debra.

The conference room where we met was filled with samples of every kind of fabric, all hanging and ready for stores to order. It was fun to see the variety.

And speaking of fabric… the 2019 Taste the Experience fabric is beginning to show up in stores across the US, Canada and Europe. Be on the lookout for these cute prints and coordinates!

I’m still thinking about the whisk chandelier and wondering if I could make it work in my store!
