After all the holiday gifts were done and given away, it was time for a FART (Fabric Acquisition Road Trip). Karen, owner of Fabric Smart, announced she was having a a sale and who can resist that! Me and three fellow quilters decided this would be a perfect way to end 2017, so we hit the road.
Driving to meet the ladies, I received a text from my husband. I never use my phone while I drive so once I got to the meeting spot, I checked it out. Here’s what he had to say:
“I went into your closet and I was shocked – totally shocked – at the small amount of fabric you seem to have. It is your duty to maintain a certain stock of fabric so you can continue to make those wonderful things you make. Therefore, I command you to spend like there’s no tomorrow.”
Then he sent a follow-up text: “Sarcasm. It’s one of my many talents”.
Back to Karen’s shop ( I ignored this funny man)… The sale was great, the drive with all four women talking over each other was perfect, and lunch was yummy! I can’t think of a better way to end the year. I wish the same for each of you. And thank you Karen for treating us well. click here
