2017 Row from The Quilted Skein

2017 Row from The Quilted Skein

First I want to apologize.  The Row is so cute but I couldn’t find a place with good lighting to hang it to take a photo of it so it’s in a closet door jam.  It’s my souvenir from Texas with the longhorn reindeer and it says Texas at the bottom.  It’s a win-win!  Here are a couple close-up pictures.  If you like the Row, here is the website for the quilt shop.  click here

This year with the unveiling of my first holiday decoration, it signifies for me the holidays are now in full-swing.  I’ve been making lists (my favorite thing as I’ve talked about before) and checking it twice.  First there are parties which include gifts for games, hostess gifts, and what I will wear.  My sewing projects are next; what have I finished and what’s left to make.  There is wrapping paper, gift bags, name tags for gifts, scotch tape (I always seem to run out), lots of tissue paper, boxes…  And I like to dress my gifts with ribbons, bells, and small ornaments or some type of doo-dad.  I think good packaging makes the gift even better!  Then again, maybe if it’s too beautiful on the outside, the inside might be disappointing?  Hmmm, something I should consider.  And last, my house has to be decorated inside and outside.  I pull out the storage bins from the garage and see what survived being packed away.  I like to use wreaths, and lights outside.  Inside I use holly, holiday pillows, and my red and green quilt.  That’s the one I talked about before that was pieced but never quilted since back then I didn’t know how to ‘quilt’.

Although overwhelming at times, it is just plain FUN!  I love giving and sharing like most quilters and crafters.  I hope as the next month unfolds, you will share some stories as to how you are preparing for and surviving through the end of the year.  And if you have any good decorating or other tips, let me know.  I am always open to new ideas.
