For some shops coming up with a concept, designing, creating and making a pattern is very difficult, so we are asking you.....what types of rows and/or blocks would you like to see this year? What is the first thing you think of when you hear the phrase "taste the experience"??
Thanks for your input! ... See MoreSee Less
My favorite rows are when shops work together to make a whole quilt using 8 rows. Those are the only kits I have purchased in the last two years.
When we travel, I love to go to local restaurants to enjoy the food and local history. I would love to see blocks that celebrate the local area. For example, Memphis area is barbeque and music. Nashville we think of Hot chicken and Loveless Cafe biscuits. I also think about going to visit my grandma and enjoying the taste and smells of her kitchen. I think of stand mixers, bowls and spoons for her house. I enjoy doing the row by row and hope to make it to more shops this year.
I love it when 8 shops collaborate to make one quilt
More pieced... lesssss applique!!!!
More pieced, or paper piece, embroidery no more of the laser cut.hard on the machine..wish we could get pattern from other states and country's.other country's are hard to get.I have not gotten any.I didn't get many last yr as on fixed income and price of gas and so far apart
Okay I’m going on the theme here: local food specialities, food festivals, food trucks, wine, cakes, aprons, kitchen/baking, mixing bowls/utensils, chefs, pies on windowsill. So many ideas. Christmas cookies, gingerbread houses. Coffee mugs, tea pots. Farmer’s Market, locdl produce
My suggestion is look at previous rows and go from there.
I would like to see more pieced rows this year.
I would love to see a tea party themed set of 8 rows to make a quilt. Sweet or cake shop would also be cute
How about county fair theme...popcorn, ice cream, peanuts, cotton candy, candied apples, hot dogs, etc.
I love the applique!
Not terribly excited about seeing food in rows.
I would be excited over a black shadow of a farmer, farm equipment, old time farming in front of a sunrise/sunset background.
I'd love to see beautiful herbs and botanicals.
The progression of nature from seed, to seedling, to flower bud, to burgeoning fruit or vegetable.
I could see a bookshelf quilt with rows of canned foods, crates of potatoes and onions, cookbooks.
I'd love a whole quilt reminiscent of a 1950s kitchen. Black and white checkered tile, old fashioned baby blue stove, polka dot apron, sunny curtains, retro fridge.
Love applique ( sorry to some folks) but would prefer less complicated pieces. Love to see rows that represent the region the shop is from. Also love to see the "cutesy" rows.
They should check out the more popular past rows. Some shops sell hundreds of their kits! Also, the collaborative kits do well, and those with local representations. A shop in Kentucky should do something with Kentucky Fried Chicken. A Georgia shop could do well with Chick-fil-A or Fried Green Tomatoes as their themes. Yes, they must be mindful of copy-writes but it can be done!
I agree less appliqué I suck at it
Baked goods!!! Anything 🍪 or 🎂 what a fun idea!
Mississippi River view eating popovers at Paulette’s and sitting in the Peabody lobby, watching the ducks with appetizers and sweet tea
I would love to see Tennessee. :)
Food, pie, pizza and wine!
sushi!! and i agree more paper piecing
ice cream and barbeque
